Hüsker Dü - Warehouse: Songs and Stories. Warner Bros Maybe they should have got a producer in. This is weak and, at times, annoying. I've got shelves full of CDs and vinyl, but only ever seem to plug in my iPod and play random mp3s. instead of just banging on about the first album being the best and how they're all.

You can really feel the group coming apart at the seems here but the tension doesn't lend itself to very many great songs. There are some genuine classics here (She Floated Away, Standing in the Rain) but the band failed to rise to their usual heights on this one.

Hüsker Dü in general and Warehouse in particular sit on the cusp as US 80s punk morphed into the power pop of the 90s that made millionaires of REM. 'Ice Cold Ice' is probably the stand-out song, along with the melodic closer 'You Can Live At Home'. Warehouse is certainly a decent album, but it just doesn't live up to the promise of five stars/5(76).
