Khanate Khanate on Colored 2LP Out of Print for Well Over A Decade / Remastered by James Plotkin with Bonus 12" Also Available on Standard Single Vinyl This is music about power - the exaltation, manifestation, the consolidation, and the earth-shattering use of sound entwined with power as means to the insular mythologies of Khanate.

Khanate are quite possibly the most disturbing, claustrophobic band ever to hit the recording studio. That is the understatement of the century. The vocals of Alan Dublin are harsh shrieks, though not in the black metal sense. The shrieks on this album sound like a defensive animal - it is truly unnerving/5(15).

about Khanate -- the quartet of Stephen O’Malley (guitar), James Plotkin (bass), Tim Wyskida (drums), and Alan Dubin (vocals) -- released their second album, Things Viral, in to considerable international acclaim. This still stands as an opus of systematically deconstructed metal and crawling avant-rock tropes.

Khanate has always been good plying the dark territory between heavy music and painful, screeching noise. "Clean Hands Go Foul" does not improve on the Khanate template, but deepens it a little. You have to be willing, as with most Doom/Drone Metal, to suspend your expectations of traditional structures and go with the stretched-riff aesthetic.5/5(4).
